Prof David Clutterbuck

David needs no introduction to EMCC Ireland. He is a thought leader in the world of coaching and a Special Ambassador for EMCC Global.
He is one of the original pioneers of coaching and mentoring and co-founder of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council. EMCC Master Practitioner, author of more than 70 books and  visiting professor at four universities. David’s talk will focus on the future for coaches. As technology takes over more and more of the simple, process tasks associated with coaching, coaches need to be able to add value not for what they do, but for who they are. It’s the human qualities and particularly our wisdom, intuition and compassion that differentiate us from intelligent machines.

David’s current research project - The Coach Maturity - shows that increasing efficacy comes from transcending the rules and processes that bound us in previous stages of development as coaches. It’s also closely allied to personal maturity – both cognitive and socio-emotional.

David will explore the transitions to maturity and how coaches can work through them. He will also review current thinking around how coaches can most effectively partner with artificial intelligence, in service of the client.
